Spring Break
A visit from the Tooth Fairy
ZoraLin finally lost her first tooth! I say finally because she was absolutely, positively sure two years ago when RaeAnne lost her first that she was going to lose one then too. So she was off a couple of years. Better late than never! AND she literally LOST the tooth too!
About a week ago Zora came to me telling me that her tooth felt "funny". I looked in and found that she actually had her permanent tooth coming in behind her baby tooth. She is following along in RaeAnne's footsteps because that is how RaeAnne's did too! I had to show her how to wiggle her baby tooth to help it fall out. Of course, she was worried that it would fall out while she was sleeping and she would swallow it. She worked very hard that first day to "pull" the tooth so she wouldn't choke on it that night! Wednesday she was working on her tooth again when it suddenly came out. She come running in to me with the tooth in hand. I oohed and ahhed like a good Mommy and then suggested she show her Daddy. She turns to run across the room to her Daddy with the tooth in her open, upright hand....then disaster strikes! Just as I was saying, "You better hold that tooth...." It fell off her hand and bounced on the carpet. We have a semi-shag, multi colored brown carpet. Oops!! ZoraLin helps Daddy look through the vacumn cleaner contents.
We were down on our hands and knees running our fingers through the carpet trying to find the tooth. 30 minutes later, we were still toothless. I decided the next course of action was the vacumn sweeper. We have a Rainbow sweeper. It works with water. So I fill up the sweeper and vacumn the whole area were we think the tooth could be. Then we take the water basin off the sweeper outside and pour the water, dirt, dog-cat hair, etc. out on the driveway and sort through the mess to see if we caught a tooth. Nothing!
Okay, Daddy has given up. Big brother (who is here for spring break) gives up. But I decide to give the carpet another "massage". Just about the time I was going to throw in the towel, I find it! Yippee! The Tooth Fairy needs to be summoned!!
I love happy endings! :)
