Happy Easter!!!

From our beautiful girls and their new best friends!! That would be "Mollie" the rabbit and the little quackers and cheepers that are behind the girls. Of course, now I have been hearing "Mom can we have a bunny?"

Spring Break

The girls have been out on spring break this past week. Big brother, Nicholas-aka-Bubby, has his spring break the same time. Bubby has been at our house since Sunday evening. The girls get so excited when Bubby is here. RaeAnne and ZoraLin have spent more time with Nicholas than Kendalan and Jordis Li have. Now that he is a teenager involved in school, sports and has a part time job we don't see as much of him as we used to.

Nicholas has always been really good with the girls. Even though he is a teenager he does devote time to playing with the girls when he is here. An added plus for him is he can play with them and manage some weight training at the same time.

A visit from the Tooth Fairy

ZoraLin finally lost her first tooth! I say finally because she was absolutely, positively sure two years ago when RaeAnne lost her first that she was going to lose one then too. So she was off a couple of years. Better late than never! AND she literally LOST the tooth too!

About a week ago Zora came to me telling me that her tooth felt "funny". I looked in and found that she actually had her permanent tooth coming in behind her baby tooth. She is following along in RaeAnne's footsteps because that is how RaeAnne's did too! I had to show her how to wiggle her baby tooth to help it fall out. Of course, she was worried that it would fall out while she was sleeping and she would swallow it. She worked very hard that first day to "pull" the tooth so she wouldn't choke on it that night! Wednesday she was working on her tooth again when it suddenly came out. She come running in to me with the tooth in hand. I oohed and ahhed like a good Mommy and then suggested she show her Daddy. She turns to run across the room to her Daddy with the tooth in her open, upright hand....then disaster strikes! Just as I was saying, "You better hold that tooth...." It fell off her hand and bounced on the carpet. We have a semi-shag, multi colored brown carpet. Oops!!

ZoraLin helps Daddy look through the vacumn cleaner contents.

We were down on our hands and knees running our fingers through the carpet trying to find the tooth. 30 minutes later, we were still toothless. I decided the next course of action was the vacumn sweeper. We have a Rainbow sweeper. It works with water. So I fill up the sweeper and vacumn the whole area were we think the tooth could be. Then we take the water basin off the sweeper outside and pour the water, dirt, dog-cat hair, etc. out on the driveway and sort through the mess to see if we caught a tooth. Nothing!

Okay, Daddy has given up. Big brother (who is here for spring break) gives up. But I decide to give the carpet another "massage". Just about the time I was going to throw in the towel, I find it! Yippee! The Tooth Fairy needs to be summoned!!

I love happy endings! :)

Carnival fun

The girls and I had a fun day. We were busy cleaning the house this morning and this afternoon we attended their school's carnival. There was two cake walks, a hat walk, a stuffed animal walk, hoop toss to win pop, face painting, toss-a-cross, break a plate, etc. Of course, you won even if you lost! On some of the games if you won, you received a token which at the end of the carnival you could exchange for prizes. If you lost, you received a piece of candy. For the girls, the instant gratification of the candy was better than winning a plastic token that you couldn't eat! We won three stuffed animals, a hat, several plastic trinket toys, a can of pop and LOTS of candy!

Jordis saw the face painting and she waited very patiently in line to have her face painted. She picked out what she wanted, which kind of surprised me since there was also a teddy bear, Barney, butterflies, balloons, and other more girly looking items to choose from. ZoraLin and Kendalan each chose their "tattoos" RaeAnne has never been a fan of having something on her face and opted to watch.
