Get along little doggies!

So there were no little doggies to drive, but we were on horse back today.   We were supposed to go Saturday afternoon, however the weather was looking mighty nasty.   We were also having a family get together in the afternoon which was threatening to keep one or more home from the ride.   A phone call out of the blue was so unexpected and welcome.   Could we come to ride horses on Sunday instead of Saturday?  You betcha!!

So to start our day off, Aunt Melissa wanted to take the girls to get manicures.   Jordis...Nope!  RaeAnne...Nope!   Zora...Yes!  Kendalan...Yes!  Tessa...Maybe?  Mom...Nope!   So here is how it played out.   Mom, Aunt Melissa, Zora, Tessa and Kendalan went to the nail shop.   Tessa backed out and Mom had her hands massaged and made purty!   Zora wanted zebra nails and Kendalan wanted a flower. They always get their way!

Then after a really fun trip to the grocery store...no really we had a fun time giggling in the aisles!!  Tee Hee!  HaHa!   Oh Mom!  We hurried home, had hot dogs and left overs and then headed out to the Deer Run Stables.    Kendalan started getting a little worried that she was not going to be able to ride one of the horses.   Everyone under the age of 18 had to wear a helmet (and I was really glad about this).   We then had a short lesson on riding and 5 minutes later we were on the horses!

RaeAnne's horse was named Kandy.

Zora's was Sundance and she had an attitude, the horse that is!

Jordis was on Sweet Pea!

Tessa was on Geronimo!

Kendalan was on Black Jack!

Melissa was on Eclipse!

And Mom's was named Durango!

We rode around down along the Kentucky River and through land that Daniel Boone was probably on.  It was so much fun and even though the girls were a little scared at first, they relaxed after a short way and began to beg to do this again very soon!   It was over before we knew it and that is how our vacation is too. We are really sad that we leave tomorrow for home.   This time tomorrow night we will be ready for bed in our own house.   Always sad to see a wonderful vacation come to an end.
